This is a presentation given in August 2010 to a group of Ob/Gyn students and faculty at UT-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. It is a brief general overview of the expected impacts of the major provisions of President Obama’s Healthcare Reform law on women and women’s healthcare. It concludes with further questions and unresolved issues that should be addressed as the plan is further refined.
This presentation draws directly from the text of H.R. 3590 (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act), the U.S. Bureau of the Census, and the Kaiser Foundation’s extensive library of population data. This presentation may be used only for non-commercial, personal, or educational purposes.
